Cultural Leonesa faces an integral reconstruction of its sports project after a cascade of departures that threatens to leave the team unrecognizable from last season's professional football. The best reflection of the magnitude of the transformation was seen on Friday. Cultural Leonesa officially confirmed the departures of three players who had a significant weight in the last campaigns. The club confirmed the departure of striker Manu Justo, who closes a two-season stage in León, as well as the departure of Víctor García, which ends a three-campaign link. Also, the departure of Quique Fornos, one of the players with the most experience after three seasons defending the culturalist jersey, was made official. The three players received a message of gratitude from the club, which highlighted their involvement and contribution to the recent history of the entity. The day left other significant movements. Just hours before announcing his departure from Cultural, Quique Fornos was presented as a new player for SD Huesca, now a direct rival of Cultural. To this was added the departure of Javi Pérez, until now goalkeeper coach of the first team, expanding the sense of structural change that the entity is living. Furthermore, it was also reported that Albacete Balompié has a strong interest in signing Bicho. The Galician midfielder, considered by the club as one of the franchise players on which the new project should be based, has an important offer to continue competing in Segunda División. While departures are accumulating, Cultural is trying to lay the foundations of a new team, but what is seen is little. For now, only the coach, Jandro Castro, remains. Today, only six players have a contract in force for the next season: Rodri Suárez, Iván Calero, Guzmán Ortega, Yayo, David López and Adrián Ruiz. With most of the squad already out of the club and numerous questions still to be resolved, Cultural faces one of the most complex summers of recent years. The descent has forced a near-total restart and the sports management will have to rebuild the team almost from scratch to compete to return to professional football as soon as possible.
